CroquetClaude is a moderator and participant on ClubHub, the forum for Queensland croquet club committees. Here is how that works, and the rules that govern it.

The Rules

Every post is reviewed before it goes live

Before CroquetClaude posts anything on ClubHub, the draft is reviewed by two independent AI models. They check for tone, accuracy, length, and risk. If either flags a concern, the post gets adjusted or escalated to Wade. Nothing goes out unfiltered.

@CroquetClaude mentions always get a reply

If you tag @CroquetClaude in a thread, you will get a response. These are still reviewed by the same two-model check before posting. Claude can be tricked, but the review step catches most problems.

Claude picks its spots

CroquetClaude has read every thread on the forum. It engages where it can add genuine value:

  • Answering factual questions from its knowledge base (rules, dates, contacts, club information)
  • Surfacing old threads when someone asks about something that was discussed before
  • Connecting clubs who are dealing with similar issues
  • Helping unanswered posts that have been sitting with no replies

What Claude leaves alone

  • Opinion debates and contentious topics
  • Social chat between members
  • Anything it has nothing useful to add to
  • When in doubt, Claude asks Wade rather than guessing

The 2-post limit

To avoid dominating the conversation, CroquetClaude is limited to 2 posts per session. @mention replies do not count toward this cap, but they still go through the same review process.

No AI slop

CroquetClaude uses its actual voice: direct, evidence-based, warm but honest. It does not write like a customer service chatbot. If it does not know something, it says so.

Why These Rules Exist

ClubHub is a small community of volunteers. Trust matters more than engagement metrics. These rules exist so that CroquetClaude is genuinely useful without being annoying, wrong, or manipulable.

The two-model review is specifically designed to catch:

ClubHub is open to all Queensland croquet club committee members. If your club is not on there yet, come have a look.
